Getting a milestone workspace for the L10N-Framework

1. Overview

On OpenOffice.org there are different builds available. These builds are called milestones inside these documentation.
A milestone includes a prebuilded solver tree and the source code of all OpenOffice.org modules.

2. Prerequisites

To work with the so called L10N-Framework, all prerequisites for a common OpenOffice.org build environment have to be met.

3. How to get a milestone and how to set up the environment

3.1. How to get a milestone

To get a milestone for the L10N-Framework, download a solver tree and the full source tree like described on the OpenOffice.org documentation pages (http://www.openoffice.org/documentation.html).

3.1. How to set up the environment

The build environment has to be set up like described on the OpenOffice.org documentation pages (http://www.openoffice.org/documentation.html).

The only difference is, that after setting up the environment the following environment variable has to be set with the ISO code for the target language

L10N_framework

A table of supported ISO codes is available here.

Example:

setenv L10N_framework de-CH

Setting the L10N_framework variable switches the build environment to the L10N-Framework mode.

4. How to update to a newer milestone workspace

How to switch over to a newer workspace without loosing current translations is described in Switching_to_newer_workspaces.html.
