Line spacing in this document differ between Linux and Windows.

Line spacings from the same odt document appear differently for Linux OOo and Windows OOo.

On OOo 3.2 and 3.3 for linux when you set to "Line Spacing Proportional of 125%", lines within a paragraph are separated by about 6 millimeters.
See attached example2-linux.pdf (exported by OOo 3.2) or example3-linux.pdf (by OOo 3.3)

Same .odt document opened by OOo 3.0 on windows appears to have wider line spacing of about 8 millimeters. See attached example-win.pdf

Attached example.odt. I was unable to reproduce this line-spacing inconsistency from scratch, it occurs only with the attached example.odt file. This problem may be related to Japanese font (VL Gothic in this example, installed on both environments).

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity".
For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.

I found the summary short and to the point. There are attachment examples which is very helpful. The information provided raised some questions for me. Could this be a PDF rendering issue with the software on different operating systems?

I did a bit of research in relation to Japanese font. I did find a few bugs in OOo that are very similar, possibly this one can be combined with those. Bug report #44534 - Porportional line spacing acts inconsistent. Bug #68105 - Hanging characters get truncated in Japanese vertical writing. Traditionally Japanese and Chinese writing in vertical, not horizontal as western writing is.

I had some more questions for you around how you did the Japanese font. Did you change your default to Japanese, type your sentences or did you type in English and then convert them? If it is the latter, possibly there is a bug in the conversion programming.

I tried to replicate your error. I did mine this way. I used Windows7 and Windows XP and used both OOo 3.2 and 3.3 on both operating systems.
1 - I typed in English several sentence in OOo
2 - I converted the text using the Google conversion program (I tried both Japanese, Chinese and French on both operating systems and both versions of OOo)
3 - I then pasted that converted text back into OOo and compared the line spacing between the English text and the Japanese, Chinese and French text.

Unfortunately I did not see a difference in the line spacing on Windows7 or Windows XP on either versions of OOo (3.2 nor 3.3). I would be very interested in seeing how you did your conversion. This could be a tip of the iceberg issue with either a PDF rendering software or a problem in the code with the conversion software.

I have successfully replicated this bug using Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 8 on OO 4.2. It is an issue with the VL Gothic font. The spacing issue is present in English characters along with Japanese. The line spacing proportion is irrelevant and the issue is still present when changed.

To replicate:

1. Open OO Writer in both Windows and Ubuntu.
2. Change Font to VL Pゴシック
3. Type any multi line sentences in both writers.
4. observe the spacing inconsistency between systems.

I have attached an imgur album showing the issue with discriptions.(Files to big for attachment here)

The issue here is with the VL Gothic font. The spacing issue is present in English characters along with Japanese. The line spacing proportion is irrelevant and the issue is still present when changed.

I have successfully replicated this bug and have done so by using the following software:

1. Download Open Office Version 4.1.2 and install it successfully.
2. (Linux) Ubuntu v16.04 (64 bit).
3. Windows v8.1 (64 bit).
4. Font tested was the Japanese font (VL Gothic).
5. Depending on the which OS is the host system - the secondary OS can be run in a virtual environment either using VMware or Virtual Box within the host OS. Please make sure both OS's are functioning properly.

To replicate the bug:

1. Open OO Writer in both Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and Ubuntu 16.04 (64 bit).
2. Change the default font to VL Gothic.
3. Type any multi line sentences in both writers using varying font sizes on both Operating systems.
4. Observe and compare the line spacing inconsistency between the 2 operating systems.

Additional info for replicating the bug using different font sizes:

The only configuration that i changed was from the 1st test run onward using the different font sizes for VL Gothic font, I discovered that font sizes selected as 7.5 points and 8.5 points are somewhat displaying the same size. The same also applies for 13.5 points and 15, and for 16 and 18.
