Description kjcalder 2012-08-02 21:10:06 UTC
I'm aware of how to turn off autocomplete for text within a Writer document. However, there is currently no way to turn it off within the Find/Replace function. For those sometimes using Writer as more of a viewer for long documents this is a problem.

When I type a search in and hit enter, I expect it to search for what I typed, and I do not expect to need to look at the screen and do additional work removing suggested words or previous searches, or whatever it is.

confirmed it with build: Aoo_Trunk_20120828.1800

But I think it's not about autocomplete.
Whether autocomplete is on or off, the issue exist.

The real issue is:
In Find & Replace dialog, when you first type a string, such as "it is good", the string will be remained when you enter Find & Replace dialog again, and the string is selected (blue highlighted).
But when you type "it is", original string still exist, and when type Enter, "it is good" is searched, instead of "it is".

So suggest to remove original string when user type anything.
