Description madmaxmarchhare 2005-05-13 01:24:56 UTC
The situation is that I have a subdocument that uses a single section to make
sure endnotes append properly to the master document (in order words, so that
the end notes come directly after the chapter, and not at the end of the
entire document once all of the subdocs are combined). By changing the endnote
style to "do not split paragraph" it does that ok, but on the next page, there
is a blank area, roughly the same size as the very last endnote on the
previous page. So, say if the very last endnote on page X is 5 lines long, the
next endnote on page X+1 does not start until around 5 lines down past the top
margin.
Comment 1 michael.ruess 2005-05-13 11:23:53 UTC
Could you please attach the subdocument to this issue, so that we casn reproduce
the problem here.
Thanks a lot!

I should say, it appears that the blank area is at the TOP of the same page,
roughly the same size as the first endnote.

I remember about such a problem, but I think, that this is already fixed.
Could you please check this with a newer build like 680m100 or m103? Thanks a lot!
I cannot see the problkem with 60m10x.
Comment 7 madmaxmarchhare 2005-06-06 21:02:10 UTC
I have downloaded m104, and although this is better, it still happens.. seems
to happen a lot less? In fact, in the sample file I sent, it doesn't really
happen, but in a longer document that I'm working on, the odd spacing still
continues (albeit it without the same number of errors as before)
Comment 8 madmaxmarchhare 2005-06-06 21:27:56 UTC
Yes.. it is still here.. I'll attach a new ZIP file with files in it.. open
the master document and go to page 8.. there's a strange space at the top of
the page that shouldn't be there. An endnote should start immediately at the
top of the page, but there appears to be about three unexplained lines of
nothing up there, for no reason.. I'll put a PDF in there so you can see it,
for sure.. This is using m104... at least the PDF will show it, even if
your 'puters don't..

Comment 12 michael.ruess 2005-06-24 08:27:18 UTC
MRU->FME: the problem is only reproducable, if have installed a font of the
"Aldine401 BT" font family. See my recent attachment.
Then open document "TestSubDocOne.odt" from the archieve. On page 4 you can see
a gap before the endnotes begin. This is not available, when a differet font is
used in the document.

Comment 15 madmaxmarchhare 2005-09-24 17:49:28 UTC
Another font that causes this is Bembo, in addition to Cardo and Aldine..
Comment 16 madmaxmarchhare 2005-09-24 18:13:35 UTC
I wonder if this should actually be changed to P2...
Comment 17 madmaxmarchhare 2005-09-24 18:28:33 UTC
Do you need any more help with this? It's starting to become critical...
Comment 18 madmaxmarchhare 2006-04-20 05:31:52 UTC
Hello? Any progress on this? It continues to happen, even with the latest
versions.
