Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52961
WW8: user defined outline numbering ignored
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:22:42 UTC
This is for a specific document created by a University of Phoenix professor as a worksheet for the students. The numbered list is pretty basic, with 1)...2) being used as first level, and a)....b)....c) used in the second level. Not exactly sure which version of MS Word it was created with, but it opens fine in Office 2003 and Office 97. The problem occurs in OOo 1.1.4 and 1.9 alike where instead of nested list, everything appears at the same level, and every line starts "Article I.....Article II", etc. In all honesty, Word Perfect mangles the document much worse, but my wife, who has been using OOO exclusively, reports that this document template presented her with considerable difficulties when trying to complete her assignments. I have the doc and hopefully I can figure out how to submit it for your review.
Created attachment 28518 [details] School assignment with a nested numbered list
MRU->FLR: the document contains a user defined outline numbering (the levels are connected to User-defined styles), which is nearly comletely ignored on import.
Considering the effort, the priority, the risk and our resource planning I've to retarget this issue to OOo Later.
