Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56743
Inserting a word doc into a table moves the entire table to a new page
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:20:10 UTC
Open Word document, created in Word, chose Insert-File choose a Word document with about a five line paragraph. The entrie table shifts to the next page where I was not able to delete anything and move the start of the table back to the original page. Convert to OpenDocument (odt) perform same steps and get same results. Convert document that is inserted into OpenDocument format. Use both OpenDocument documents with all the same steps and it works!
I cannot reproduce the problem with my sample files, so please attach the offending document to this issue, so that we can reproduce and fix the problem here. You can also send the document directly (mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential data. Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done. Thanks for supporting us!
Uploading the files where the issue was discovered TP_Rec.doc is the file with the table. ReminderSing.doc is the file that is inserted in to the table (usually in the Third row, third column.

MRU->OS: when inserting a document, which has a "page break to new page style" in its first paragraph, into a table, the page break sgould NOT be added to the tables properties in this case. MRU->lenisham: you can workaround this by removing the page break from the tables properties (tab "Text flow") right after inserting the text.
If you drag & drop the ReminderSing.doc into the existing table, the position of the table does not change.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
