Description madbop 2006-03-22 08:43:12 UTC
Currently index entries cannot be associated with a style
Often indexed words are used to be printed italic and within a hypertext
document these indexed words should be linked to there respective indices and
vice versa (issue: 61643)!

Solution: Insert hyperlink and associate style to indexed words at entry and
association (=option to integrate all similar words in index)

Reassigned to ES.

Applying a style to the entries is already possible (Insert - Indexes and Tables
- Indexes and Tables - Entries - Character Style).

Remains the hyperlink for alphabetical indexes.

Thanks, though...!
Maybe I have done something wrong, but when I change the formatting to
"Emphasis" the marked word cannot be changed - it is only the entry in the index
that does.
Furthermore the main index entry marking does not seem to work properly.
Should'nt the main index entry (in the index) be changed to bold in he attached
document?

Can we re-open and progress this issue? Here's the use I would make of it.

In some documents, a term is defined contextually. For example:

> When riding a roller coaster, make sure you
> are holding the bar that sits across your
> lap (the "chicken handle").

In that example, the term "chicken handle" would (a) appear in a glossary of
defined terms, so that you can quickly flip to where it is defined, and (b) be
bolded, italicized, underlined, or otherwise formatted so that it is easy to
find on that page.

Being able to hypertext back and forth would also be nice.
