Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94118
"learnt" as alternative to "lerarned" not contained in dict. "English-US"
Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:43:10 UTC
typed the "learnt" in OpenOffice 2.4 Writeter. The word "learnt" was hightlighted as spelling error.
I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC1 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m5 (Build9350)]" and can NOT confirm the reported effect for test language "English GB". Same result with "2.4.1 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [680m17(Build9310)]" for test language "English GB". With both OOo versions reproducible for test language "English US". No idea whether there really might be this difference in usage between GB and USA. @kaiwen123: May I ask you to invest some more accuracy for your reports? Before you file further issues or post again here, please read our guidelines on <http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and <http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>! Then contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error messages ...), every key press and every mouse click how to reproduce the problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected.
Confirmed in 3.4.1/US-en/Windows.
(In reply to comment #2) > Confirmed in 3.4.1/US-en/Windows. The dictionary is an external component, not developed at OpenOffice. The user should specify which dictionary extension has this bug (as there might be more than one en-US dictionary extension), search the organization that is currently in charge of the dictionary development, and submit an issue there. IMO this bug should be closed as INVALID or WONTFIX.
